Dear friends,
Today I am so grateful for this community of incredibly creative, kind, and compassionate people. One person I have to thank for encouraging me to start kindred is my good friend Yi-Mei!
Speaking of, Yi-Mei (Yeemz) will be giving a FREE concert in partnership with Celebrity Series of Boston this weekend February 15th at 12:00 PM at the Roxbury branch of the Boston Public Library. To reserve your ticket, use this link and select “Yeemz”.
As difficult as my relationship with social media platforms has been, I have Instagram to thank for connecting me with Yi-Mei in 2020 when I decided I’d be moving to Boston. Somehow the “algorithm” led me to Yi-Mei who had posted a vlog about a day in her life as a student at New England Conservatory. When I saw the video I just knew that somehow she’d be a special part of my life upon moving. After all, we do have matching socks that say “namaste, you guys”!
As I mentioned above, Yi-Mei encouraged me to follow my aspirations of creating the Kindred community in May of 2023 after our first unofficial gathering at an interdisciplinary/contemplative arts event featuring an art installation called “Symphony of Tears” by my friend Yolanda Yang, along with music composed specifically for the event by Denver Knuckolls. So grateful for the encouragement of friends that help you along the journey to align with the best version of yourself. <3
Check out Yi-Mei’s newest song “TSA” with this very wholesome music video!
See you this weekend?!
hugs,
erin
